The Arizona Diamondbacks' bullpen contributed 3.2 innings of scoreless relief behind starter Ian Kennedy on Wednesday night, helping the Diamondbacks get back to .500 at 8-8. This continued a remarkable streak by the bullpen in which they have only allowed 1 run over the last 23 innings. Starting with the last 4.1 IP in the 15-5 blowout loss to the Cardinals on April 13th, the Diamondbacks' bullpen performance has been outstanding.
| Date | IP | ER | Results |
| 13-Apr | 4.1 | 0 | |
| 15-Apr | 3.0 | 0 | |
| 16-Apr | 2.1 | 0 | |
| 17-Apr | 6.2 | 1 | Win |
| 19-Apr | 3.0 | 0 | 2 Holds, 1 Save |
| 20-Apr | 3.2 | 0 | 3 Holds, 1 Save |
| Total | 23.0 | 1 | 1 Win, 5 Holds, 2 Svs |
The 1 ER in 23 IP gives them an ERA of 0.39 during that stretch. It has been a group effort - Closer J.J. Putz and set-up man David Hernandez have each thrown 4 scoreless IP each, but also contributing have been Juan Gutierrez (4.2 IP), Esmerling Vasquez (5 iP, 1 ER), Sam Demel (2 IP), Josh Collmenter (2 IP), and Joe Paterson (1.1 IP). The bullpen's ERA for the year is now down to a solid 4.19, and the team as a whole has a 3.38 ERA over the last seven days.
Edit: After Thursday's game with the Reds, the Bullpen has now allowed only one run in its last 25.2 IP.
