1B Paul Goldschmidt, who slugged his league-leading 20th HR today, was named to the Southern League All-Star team today, along with four other teammates from the Mobile Bay Bears - OF Ollie Linton, OF A.J. Pollock, SS Taylor Harbin, and SP Wes Roemer. Goldschmidt currently leads the Southern League in HR, RBI, Runs Scored, SLG, and OPS, and is 3rd in Batting Average and OBP. The Bay Bears are 35-25 on the season, and in first place in the South Division of the Southern League.

Reliever Bryan Shaw was also selected for the team, but has already been promoted to AAA Reno. Left off the team were top prospects 3B Ryan Wheeler (.314/.382/.483), OF Marc Krauss (.246/.349/.467), and SP Jarrod Parker (5-4, 4.75 ERA, but with a recent stretch of 1 ER over his last 15 IP, with 16K/2 BB).
Edit: Marc Krauss and Patrick Corbin (6-3. 4.70 ERA, 71K/18BB/8HR in 79.1 IP) are late additions to the Southern League All Star team.
