The Diamondbacks are expected to call up OF Gerardo Parra from AAA Reno today, and send Cole Gillespie back down. Parra has hit .417/.462/.611 for Reno since being sent down two weeks ago. This move may indicate that 1B Adam LaRoche may not be available tonight after being hit by a pitch inside the knee on Tuesday by Josh Johnson. This way, Conor Jackson could shift to 1st Base while Parra plays LF against the Giants' RHP Todd Wellemeyer. Wellemeyer has been very tough on right-handed hitters, holding them to a .176/.287/.284 (571 OPS) clip, while left-handed hitters have hit .276/.394/.552 (946 OPS). For his career, lefties have a 142 point edge in OPS compared to righties.
